already winter and midyear

this is how I would like to spend my winter- snuggled into some space that I can conform to and if needs be listen to.
Instead I spend mornings that are really dark pretending they and I are light and awake and also evenings that are misty and still, are bught and energetic. What a challenge.
I wonder if the role of the online facilitator might mirror this as international dates, seasons, academic years etc create mismatch, OR are we on the "line" above and beyond that?
I would love peoples' ideas on this.
Stay warm.
Willie

I am not sure what the answer to your question is, Willie. In one sense, there are no seasons online so we have to keep at a certain levels all the time. At the same time, I find I have times of great energy and other times when I do not want to look at a computer. I do not get energised by the seasons but rather , by people's interactions with me. Not sure if that makes any sense...what do you think, Willie?

I think I'm going off topic a little, but thought you might be interested in this post where there's a great discussion going on about digital life: http://cribchronicles.com/2010/07/08/i-got-some-things-that-are-beautiful/#comments

Hi Willie
The image you have used for this post is fabulous. I really liked the way you explained yourself using the image. I expect there will be moments that we are not bright & energetic as online facilitators & this is perhaps when we need to walk away from the computer, go for a run, stretch or look at the sky. I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts during the course & also more fabulous images. You have inspired me to find some great images to match my future posts.

Hi Willie,
Great to see you back here again - and thanks for your post on my blog.
I like your question. It might be interesting also to extend it to consider how time of day affects us - bound to be an issue given how spread out we are. After all, it's nearly midnight here as I write this. And perhaps we (the royal "you"?) can research some literature on shift and seasonal working.
Cheers,
Chris

I'm also doing the course. I think I'm looking forward to it, the more I comment on blogs from the group.
