beaking out all over

and no it isn't only spring that has broken out.

the breakout time in Elluminate has shown our collective wish to have:
1)timers showing in all the rooms- well the wonderful Jo Hart says yes you choose the "seen by all" option and that will happen.

2) screens loaded in each room. again JoHart gives us plenty of answers and more besides. Thank goodness for such people, as the material from Elluminate itself is really only promotional- what you can do rather than how.

The other suggestions from Sarah around room leaders or what we had called guardians or kaitiaki in our planning, the summaries at the end etc are indeed all real group facilitator musts aren't they? I was so reminded that it is so easy to be tipped off a well balanced perch by technical malfunctions.
and yes it is Spring. so all those blossoms, tulips, dafodils, etc are showing purpose and hope in our gardens.
May you and yours be well tended at this time.

I love Dunedin at this time of year. Just down the road from us is a magnificent magnolia tree that is covered in stunning pink flowers.

I am getting the sense that FO2010 is starting to blossom. We are meeting the challenges facing us and working together to overcome them. We are incredibly supportive of each and take each experience as one of learning. We're not engaging with blogging in quite the same way as FO2009, but there's a lot more interaction going on at live sessions. It's fascinating how different courses/years/groups behave.

Sarah I suspect the interaction is because you are giving people the opportunity tp play in the technology ratheer than depend on "others" and we are supporting each other in this. For me this is an inspired piece of learning support.

I agree...the challenge for me now is to think how this can be facilitated in different courses and contexts...

I need to learn how to do breakout sessions in Elluminate. I tried it in an Elluminate session with first year midwifery students and it was a bit of a disaster. I couldn't get in there with them and they were left playing by themselves, mind you I think they quite enjoyed that. I had not set anything up for them and did not know how to get them back again. In the end I just had to drag them back and they were a little disorientated as to where they were. Ah well you live and learn!!
As I said I need a lesson with this. Do EDC run courses on Elluminate Sarah?

Hi Carolyn, no...we don't run official courses as such but if there were a couple of you who were interested in looking at a particular function/issue, we could arrange something.

I'd be keen to be part of that, as I need to be practising again.
